About The Catholic Center at UGA
The Catholic Center at the University of Georgia is a Eucharistic community that seeks to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Roman Catholic Church. This faith-based and multi-generational community has served the UGA and Athens communities for over 70 years.
The Catholic Student Association (CSA) is a student-led leadership structure that plans and coordinates weekly ministries and events. In collaboration with The Catholic Center at UGA, the CSA is able to reach out to fellow peers and invite them into an encounter with Jesus Christ.
The staff, student leaders, and benefactors of The Catholic Center are committed to providing a sacred space for students to worship, pray, grow in the faith, build lifelong friendships, rest, study, play, and discover that they are called to be saints.
Living Out Your Faith in College
Whether you grew up Catholic or just started to practice the faith, there is a place for you at The Catholic Center. Coming to college can be overwhelming: new friends, rigorous academics, a new living space, different food, and lots of newfound freedom. Whether you are scared or excited, it is important that we ground our identity in something other than the things we will accomplish at the University of Georgia.
That is where The Catholic Center comes in. We seek to show students that they are loved, seen, and known no matter what. We invite them to find their identity in their relationship with God. Here they will find that they are beloved sons and daughters of a good Father. We invite students to encounter this reality through fellowship, formation, and accompaniment. At The Catholic Center, “All Are Welcome” and everyone can find a home.
FOCUS
FOCUS is a Catholic apostolate that seeks to invite college students into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and equip them with the formation and resources to lead others to Him. Through Bible studies, outreach events, mission trips, and everyday accompaniment, FOCUS missionaries inspire and build up others in faith, sending them out to spread the Good News and live out the Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). At UGA, we have five full-time missionaries who walk with us daily.
