Columbia Catholic Ministry

Columbia University in New York

A message from Columbia Catholic Ministry

Columbia Catholic Ministry (CCM) encompasses the Catholic outreach to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff of Columbia University who seek to be faithful disciples and ardent apostles of Jesus Christ in communion with the Catholic Church universal and in the Archdiocese of New York.

Since September 2022, the center of CCM has been Notre Dame Church, on the corner of W. 114th Street and Morningside Avenue, where the new Catholic Center — the Thomas Merton Institute for Catholic Life — opened in the former Notre Dame Rectory in February 2023.

CCM seeks to serve and unite Catholics at Columbia College, SEAS, Barnard College, and the school of General Studies, as well as students from the Med School, the Law School, Teacher's College, Business School, GSAS, and Columbia’s many graduate programs.

CCM hosts a variety of events each week, all of which are aimed at drawing us closer to one another by bringing us ever closer to Christ in His Church: our Sunday Mass and Sunday Supper, to our Tuesday night "family dinners," to our daily adoration and Mass, to our many service and social activities, to lectures, pilgrimages and more.

Because Columbia is located right in the heart of the liveliest city on the planet, our ministry is also blessed to have a number of off-campus opportunities for engaging with the Catholic faith as well.

We are praying for you to join us as part of this community.
