Flint Newman Center
Detroit College of Business
A message from Flint Newman Center
The Flint Newman Center relates to the religious and spiritual needs of the campus community, and its focus on spiritual, social, and educational needs is a long-standing facet of this ministry. In Flint, we serve largely a commuter population. Much of our involvement includes counseling, marriage preparation, and value and ethics discernment. We try to relate to those at life’s crisis points, and in times of change.
Our outreach ministry has included involvement in beginning the North End Soup Kitchen, in housing needs, and community concern and outreach in a changing society.
We try to develop a sense of responsibility and stewardship through these college generations for ages to come, and we enable spiritual, social, and educational opportunities. The Flint Newman Center Catholic Campus Ministry serves Baker College, C.S. Mott community College, Detroit College of Business-Flint, Kettering University, and the University of Michigan-Flint. Campus Ministry seeks to inspire and include the college community in our mutual commitment to God’s work in the world. We strive to be a sign of Faith, Hope and Love with all those who seek our help. Meetings are at 6-9pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church every Tuesday during the school year. If you have any questions please contact Deacon Michael Dear mdear@dioceseoflansing.org or Nick Pobocik npobocik@strobertschool.com or call 810-653-4777.
