Newman Center

Eastern Arizona College

A message from Newman Center

In about 1978, the building that houses the Newman Catholic Student Center was given to St. Rose of Lima Parish by Dr. Guttreau, at that time President of Eastern Arizona College. Mass is held every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a complimentary lunch provided by members of St. Rose of Lima Parish. Newman students have a strong presence in campus activities; and can enjoy a home-like environment at the Center which offers a pace to study; computer access; TV and VCR; kitchen facilities and a meditation area in addition to the Chapel. The Newman Sustaining Board maintains the Center and awards 2 full tuition Scholarships to EAC annually to qualifying students. The necessary funds for the Sustaining Board's responsibilities are raised as a result of the annual Santa Maria Tri-tip Dinner each spring.
