St. John’s Newman Center
Parkland College
A message from St. John’s Newman Center
Ranked #1 by Best College Reviews, St. John's Catholic Newman Center (SJCNC) serves thousands of students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and nearby Parkland College.
SJCNC strives to lead college students into a lifelong connection with Christ and his Church through the sacraments and a vibrant, inviting community.
How do we do this? We make sure to provide a variety of opportunities for students to build up their faith, to build deep and lasting friendships, and to build up their appreciation for the beauty of Catholicism.
With a centrally located, 586-bed co-ed dormitory, SJCNC naturally teems with life. Our warm, welcoming environment is what you would expect from an organization charged with sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. And our beautiful and inspiring 700-seat chapel is just the place for your tired soul to find rest and nourishment after a long day of studying.
Every day, Mass, Adoration, and Reconciliation are offered. Frequent retreats, overnights, FOCUS bible studies, intramural Catholic Illini teams, Q&A sessions, small group meetings, social activities, and much much more help students to become the best versions of themselves.
Whether you live in our dorm or elsewhere on campus, you can be sure that you belong here!
Become a part of the Catholic Illini community!
