A message from Rapid City Catholic Newman Center

Welcome to the Rapid City Catholic Newman Center website! The center has served the spiritual, social, and leadership formation needs of Catholic students attending the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology for over 40 years.

In 1974, the Cathedral parish purchased a house on the corner of Quincy Street and renovated the garage to have a dedicated space for students to celebrate the Mass near campus. Many alumni and friends of the center had a vision that a new center closer to campus would provide more students better access to a deep spiritual life and in 2013 a beautiful center was constructed. The new Center is just a block from campus and since expanding, our existing ministries have thrived and many new ones have begun! This fall we are excited to welcome 4 Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionaries to campus!
