St. Mary Student Parish & Newman Center
University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
A message from St. Mary Student Parish & Newman Center
St. Mary Student Parish is your home away from home at the University of Michigan. Located just two blocks from the Central Campus, St. Mary has been serving the Catholic community for nearly 100 years. We are known for our welcoming community, Spirit-filled liturgies, our powerful retreats, our variety of small groups -- including Women's, Men's, Cristeros (Hispanic), Middle Eastern, among others. Whether you are looking for a quiet place to pray or study, a way to meet new friends, or an opportunity to grow deeper in your faith, St. Mary is the place for you.
Over the years, our community has grown to include not only students but also faculty, staff, alumni and residents of the greater Ann Arbor area, reflecting a rich tapestry of generations and cultures. The mission at St. Mary is clear: to continue building the Body of Christ through vibrant worship, compassionate service, and a sense of belonging for all who seek a spiritual home at the University of Michigan and beyond. As a parish staffed by the Jesuits, we strive in the Ignatian tradition to help everyone discover God already at work in their lives.
